Since the quality of play was so good throughout the match, here are the goals and highlights of this epic victory for the ‘Ning.

It seems we learned from some sloppy play before Christmas: Passes were spot on, ball speed was good, and we used the wings and unmarked players to continually create options further up the field. Probobaly the most satisfying part of the game (bar the goals) was the team synchronisation and the way concentration was maintained even after half time, which, as Grant says is so often our stumbling point. Short corners and upgrades came thick and fast, and Sonning was quick to seize the initiative and make numerous breaks into the Eastcote D. All of the goals were well timed and well executed, but the highlight of the match had to be Mark “Bambi” Handsford’s terrific top corner belcher – defenders do score. Overall a fantastic performance, landing us 8 points clear of the relagation zone and putting us squarely back in the running for mid/top table success. Gives yourselves a pat on the back lads!
